If you are going for a sales job and can’t sell yourself you aren’t going to prove your worth.

Think beyond the standard qualities -  what makes you unique? Maybe it’s the rapport you build with your customers – or the record for sales you broke at your last company – or for some recognition you received – give some examples – behavioral interviewing – see the Virtual Interviews – interview.monster.com for some practice.

Selling yourself will be the most important sale you will make this year – prepare as you would for any sale. Qualify the customer – what do “they” need? How can you be the solution to their problem?

And, don’t forget to close the sale – tell them you are ready – when would they like you to start?
